The Portuguese forward scored twice to help Manchester United beat Newcastle United 4-1 and send the Red Devils top of the table.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace shocked Tottenham Hotspur, who were previously atop the league, winning 3-0. On the other side of London, Romelu Lukaku made his second home debut and kept Chelsea rolling, scoring twice as they beat Aston Villa 3-0.

The two Merseyside clubs, Everton and Liverpool, now both find themselves in the top four with equally impressive victories over Burnley and Leeds United.
